About Us
The Free Library of Springfield Township was founded in 1966 and provides free access to over 60,000 educational and recreational materials to all Springfield Township and Montgomery County residents.
Since we have opened, we have been dedicated to creating a community center for lifetime learning. We are a charter member of Access Pennsylvania, which allows patrons to use any participating Pennsylvania library. We are also a charter member of MCLINC, a consortium of libraries which provides online, public access to Montgomery County library collections and online databases via library, home, and office computers.
Please note that the Free Library of Springfield Township has a Summer Hours schedule from July 1 through Labor Day Weekend. There are also special holiday hours and closures. Be sure to check our hours of operations.
Emergency Closing
In the event of inclement weather or an emergency, the library may be forced to close. If the library is forced to close early or postpone opening, it will be posted on the library website or the library answering machine. To access information about emergency closings from the answering machine, call the library and select “Special Events” from the automated phone menu.
