How Do I...?

Renewable Springfield

Renewable Springfield refers to the overall effort Springfield Township is making to fulfill its committed to getting to 100% clean, renewable electricity by 2035, and 100% clean, renewable energy for our vehicles and building heat by 2050.  The initiative was formally known as “Ready for 100” in reference to the fact that Springfield Township was one of the first municipalities in Montgomery County to sign on to the “Ready for 100% Clean Energy” nationwide initiative, and passed a resolution establishing these goals in January, 2019.

The Township’s Energy Transition Plan includes a discussion of Clean Transportation by 2050 and provides recommendations for a transitioning of the municipal fleet, currently energized by fossil fuels, to vehicles and equipment that obtains renewable energy from the electric grid.
