The Safewatch program is a surveillance camera initiative where residents and businesses take extra security measures to monitor their homes and property by installing outdoor security cameras. Residents and businesses can register at no cost and share their security camera footage with the police in the event of a crime being committed near their property. By registering with Safewatch, residents can help Police decrease the time between the commission of a crime, to suspect identification and arrest. Participation is strictly voluntary and you can withdraw from the program at any time. Your personal information is confidential and participants will receive a window decal which helps serve as a deterrent to criminals. Registration can be done by clicking the “sign up” button on the Police Department’s facebook page or by going to this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/98SZ9K. You can also pick up a registration form at the police station.
