We are thrilled that you want to sign up for No Mow May. You can learn more about No Mow May here. No Mow May is expanding to 150 lawns for 2025. This voluntary project, which is spearheaded by our Environmental Advisory Committee, allows residences to grow out their lawn to support pollinators and beneficial insects. Pollinators and beneficial insects are the foundation of a thriving ecosystem. Please read the following information and click the link to sign up at the bottom of the page.
By providing your name and address, you are volunteering to enter into a temporary Conservancy Plan for your residential property located within Springfield Township, Montgomery County Pennsylvania for the month of May 2025.
You agree to follow the terms of the Conservancy Plan as stated below. The Springfield Township Environmental Advisory Commission (EAC) will be administering the No Mow May for 2025.
- The EAC will share the names and addresses of those residents participating with the Chief of Police and the Fire Marshal. This list will be used in case of complaints from neighbors.
- No Mow May will run during the month of May.
- The curb strip grass between the street and the sidewalk must be maintained at a mowed height.
- Along the perimeter of the lawn next to the sidewalk or street if you have no sidewalk, the grass must be maintained at a mowed height for the width of a lawn mower.
- A sign identifying participation must be prominently displayed on the lawn. The sign will be provided by the EAC.
- You will discuss the benefits of No Mow May and why you are not cutting your lawn with your neighbors.
- All lawns must be cut back to regular length by the end of the first weekend after May ends, by end of day Sunday June, 1.
You can pick up your No Mow May sign at the Library parking lot on Saturday, April 27 from 1 to 3 PM. If you cannot make this time, please drop an email to EACSpringfieldMontco@gmail.com to arrange an alternate time and place.
