It has been brought to the attention of Springfield Township that some Springfield residents may have received a text alert from Philadelphia recommending the use of bottled water due to a spill in the Delaware River.
Our staff has confirmed with our partners at Aqua and Philadelphia Water that this does NOT affect Springfield Township. More information is available in this statement from Aqua.
This spill also does NOT impact Springfield Residents with Philadelphia Water. Areas of Springfield with Philadelphia Water draw their water from a different water treatment plant. Residents can view a map of impacted Philadelphia water areas using the link below.
