Practical Sustainability Talk
The Springfield Township Environmental Advisory Commission will be hosting a Practical Sustainability presentation on June 7th at 7pm in the Library.
From single use bags and containers to deodorant bottles, this presentation will cover practical applications for Springfield residents to implement in order to lead more sustainable lives. The goal is to move past discussing the problems and move onto providing hands on actions residents can take today and apply to daily life.
We are often reminded of the negative impact we have on our planet, and leave it up to individual efforts to minimize our respective impact on the environment. In this talk, the presenter will walk through specific actions and choices residents can take today to lessen their impact on the environment, while being able to maintain a normal lifestyle. The presentation will cover daily life activities, from shopping to eating, lighting the home, appliances, cleaning products, packaging, and personal hygiene products.
This presentation will be lead by EAC member Stephen Heverin.
About the Presenter
Stephen is a technologist who has been a resident of Springfield with his family for the past 20 years in the township. His sustainable journey started with wanting to lower his electric bill, and eventually lead him to serving on the EAC, where he's been for over 10 years helping to educate himself and other residents on stormwater and sustainable practices.
