Ridge Pike Lane Switching

The Ridge Pike Section D project will be performing lane switching tomorrow, Wednesday, February 7th, 2024, as the project progresses into the next stage.  Both lanes of traffic on Ridge Pike, from Northwestern Ave. to just west of Manor Road, will be moved to the new asphalt on the north side of Ridge Pike.  The traffic switch will take place between 9:30 AM and approximately 3:00 PM.  Traffic delays should be minimal during this switch, but please allow for the possibility of any unforeseen backups.

Motorists are advised to allow for extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather-dependent. Questions and concerns can be directed to the County at 610-278-3000.

What Is The Ridge Pike Improvement Project?

The Ridge Pike Improvement Project involves the full reconstruction of Ridge Pike between Norristown and Philadelphia, with additional widening and safety improvements at specific locations. The project will lessen congestion, improve safety, improve stormwater management, provide safe areas for pedestrians, and help keep the adjacent communities economically competitive.

The Ridge Pike Improvement Project will also help achieve the goals of the county’s comprehensive plan, Montco 2040: A Shared Vision, by repairing existing infrastructure, enhancing access to businesses, improving safety for walkers and bicyclists, and keeping older neighborhoods economically competitive.
