Police Officers Recognized in Commendation Ceremony

Police Commendation Ceremony

At the regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners, the Board formally recognized several Springfield Township police officers for their outstanding achievements that occurred in 2023. The awards presented were as follows:

Commendatory Letters - Sergeant Whitney, Officer Fantry, and Officer Litwinowicz

• Assist Officer/Officer-involved shooting; assisted with first aid and perimeter that occurred on 4/22/23

Commendations of Merit - Detectives Baiada and Craig

• Attempted homicide/aggravated assault/robbery; Unit block and ultimately arrest of four males that occurred on 5/5/2023

Commendatory Letters - Officer Donnelly and Sergeant Wilbur

• Traffic stop, fleeing/eluding police and corresponding arrest that occurred on 7/23/23

Unit Citation - Sergeant Badolato, Corporal Kauffman, Officer Tauscher, Officer Lopez

• Burglary/Stolen vehicles, two vehicles had been stolen from the same address on separate dates, suspect eluded police, was arrested and charged that occurred on 8/16/23

Commendatory Letter - Lieutenant Mersky

• Worked on our initial PLEAC Accreditation process and certification with consultants who were hired after the Township was successful in receiving a Department of Justice Community-Oriented Policing grant

Highway Safety Award - Officer Gross
