Springfield Township Welcomes First All-Electric Vehicle to Police Fleet
Springfield Township has officially introduced its first all-electric vehicle into the municipal fleet—a 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning. This state-of-the-art vehicle represents a significant step toward modernizing operations while advancing the Township’s commitment to sustainability.
The fully electric F-150 Lightning has an approximate range of 200 miles on a full charge, making it well-suited for daily police duties and community-based assignments. Its quiet operation, instant torque, and advanced technology offer both performance and environmental benefits. The addition of the F-150 Lightning reflects the Township’s ongoing efforts to reduce its carbon footprint, lower fuel costs, and embrace cleaner energy alternatives in municipal operations.
Residents can expect to see the new electric vehicle out in the community as the Police Department puts it to work—quietly and efficiently.
