There will be ongoing traffic delays starting Wednesday, March 31 as Aqua works to replace a water main on Overbook Lane in the Township.

Water Main Replacement on OVERBROOK LANE starting March 31.

Aqua Pennsylvania will begin the replacement of 571’ feet of aging water main on Overbrook Lane beginning March 31, 2021 with an anticipated completion date in May. The project is part of Aqua's infrastructure improvement program and the new water main is expected to reduce the potential for main breaks, discolored water and improve water flow in the area.

Construction will generally take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Access will be provided for residents as well as emergency, mail and trash service. However, crews might need to work on Saturdays in some cases. All motorists should expect delays when traveling through affected neighborhoods and are encouraged to find alternate routes if possible. Local and delivery traffic will be permitted access.

Following installation, the new main will be flushed, chlorinated and tested for water quality before being placed into service. During the chlorination/testing phase, activity on the job site will be limited. Once the water quality testing has been completed, each water service and fire hydrant will be transferred to the new main. It is important to note the access trench will be covered with temporary blacktop at the end of each workday. At the end of the project, the Township is planning to repave the road.

Questions and concerns should be directed to Aqua at 1-877-987-2782.
