Head of Circulation: Full Time Position – 2021

Springfield Township is accepting applications for a Free Library of Springfield Township Head of Circulation Full-Time Position. This is a salaried position, 37.5 hours per week with evening and weekend rotations expected.
Individuals will work under the close supervision of the Library Director. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of principles and practices related to public library work, with chief emphasis on delivery of outstanding library service to the public. Responsibilities include scheduling and maintaining good relationships with all Circulation Part-Time staff, making sure the front desk is covered at all times while the Library is open, responding to readers' advisory and helping patrons search for items, utilizing all points of delivery including desk, roaming, e-mail, phone, Instant Messaging, and additional methods of communications, providing front-line library service to all customers; maintaining appropriate decorum and atmosphere in the department's public spaces, and more (see website ‘Employment Opportunity’ section for further details).
MLIS from ALA accredited school preferred. Or College Degree with some Library experience. Exceptional computer skills. Fluent in English, excellent oral and written communication. Must have valid PA driver’s license.
