The Montgomery County Consortium of Communities, on behalf of their respective Civil Service Commissions or Municipalities, will be conducting a written examination and physical agility assessment for Police Officer on Saturday, September 7 at 8:30am the at the Springfield Township High School, 1801 Paper Mill Road, Erdenheim, PA 19038, Springfield Township High School is not affiliated with the event and the high school should not be contacted regarding the test.
Time of the test:
All applicants shall report for registration at 8:00 a.m. on the day of the test. No one will be admitted after 8:30 a.m.
Instructions
- NO paper applications will be accepted.
- Applicants who do not have computer access can go to any public library or one of the participating agencies to complete the application online.
- NO checks or money orders will be accepted.
- Please dress appropriately or bring a change of clothes for the physical agility assessment.
- All applicants must bring photo ID, two number 2 pencils.
- No food or drink, cell phones, back packs, hats, weapons, or purses, other than those used to carry personal hygiene items, will be permitted into the testing facility.
A single unified application is available on-line at www.montcopolicetest.com. This application can be used to apply to any of the departments you are eligible for. Unified Applications must be completed on-line at www.montcopolicetest.com.
You will not be permitted to take the exam until you complete the application online and pay the $40 fee by using the PayPal account linked to the application.

PHYSICAL ASSESSMENT TEST:
There will be a physical assessment test held immediately at the conclusion of the written test. Applicants, if they choose, will have several minutes to change or consume food/energy bar, drink, etc., prior to check-in for the physical agility assessment. The standards for successfully completing the assessment test are listed at www.mpoetc.state.pa.us using the thirtieth percentile (30%).

TO BE CONSIDERED for employment with Springfield Township, YOU MUST:
- Be at least 21 years of age at the time of application
- Be a U.S. Citizen
- Possess a high school diploma or GED
- Possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
- Be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of a police officer
- Have completed or presently be enrolled in a course of study at a police academy certified by the PA Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission (MPOETC) and be able to meet the certification standards of the MPOETC as required by PA Act 120; or qualify for a waiver of training
- Police applicants and Police Officers must be free of any tattoos, branding, or body art on the face, ears, and/or neck.
- Any visible offensive tattoos, branding, or body art, are prohibited when wearing the Springfield Township Police Department uniform.
