Meetings Dates for the Recreation Center Project
On March 13, 2024, the Board of Commissioners awarded a contract to MKSD Architects of Allentown, PA, to provide community research, data and needs analysis, facility programming, and conceptual design services for the Springfield Township Recreation Center. MKSD was selected at the recommendation of the Recreation Center Advisory Committee (RCAC) after a careful and deliberate process that began with the solicitation of a competitive Request for Proposals in October 2023.
Architects and engineers are currently evaluating the existing buildings to assess their condition and suitability for adaptive reuse. As part of the current scope of work, a recreation consulting firm will conduct a needs assessment and solicit a community survey. The firm will also provide recommendations for consideration and complete a financial analysis and budget.
Input meetings with stakeholder groups and the community have been scheduled and will occur as follows:

This Advisory board meets on the first Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at the Free Library of Springfield Township, 8900 Hawthorne Ln, Wyndmoor.
