Last week, the Board of Commissioners of Springfield Township adopted Resolution 1671 proclaiming July 18th as Park and Recreation Professional's Day!
Springfield Township Parks and Recreation is so important to our community as they promote physical, emotional and mental health wellness through organized and self-directed fitness, play, and activity. Parks and Recreation also support the economic vitality of communities by providing frontline jobs, childcare for the essential work force and promoting community revitalization. The folks that work hard behind the scenes to ensure the department is able to support safe, vibrant, and progressive communities deserve a huge shout-out. The Board of Commissioners values the essential services that parks and recreation professionals and volunteers perform to provide recreational and developmental enrichment for our children, youth, adults and seniors; and to ensure our parks and recreation facilities are clean, safe, and ready to use.
We are so happy to honor our Parks and Recreation professionals this Friday and continue celebrating Park and Recreation month with National Recreation and Park Association for the rest of July!
