Meetings Dates for the Walnut Avenue Site Project
On November 13, 2024, the Board of Commissioners awarded a contract to PORT of Philadelphia, PA, to provide design services for the Walnut Avenue Site Project (1725 Walnut Ave in Oreland). This site is also known as the former Tank Car Site redevelopment project. PORT was selected at the recommendation of the Walnut Avenue Master Plan Steering Committee after a careful and deliberate process that began with the solicitation of a competitive Request for Proposals in September 2024.
PORT will host two open-house events to provide opportunities for the public to participate and share their thoughts and engage in meaningful discussions on the future of this site.
Upcoming Public Meeting Dates:
- Public Open House: Wednesday, March 5, 2025: 5:30PM-6:30PM, Location: Springfield Township Building (1510 Paper Mill Rd).
- Public Open House: Wednesday, April 2, 2025: 5:30PM-6:30PM, Springfield Township Building (1510 Paper Mill Rd).
Residents are also encouraged to visit a Walnut Avenue Master Plan Steering Committee meeting. This Advisory board meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at the Springfield Township Building, 1510 Paper Mill Rd, Wyndmoor.
