The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health has released its first Community Health Assessment (CHA) report, providing valuable insights into the health and wellness of residents across the county, including right here in Springfield Township.
This report highlights key health trends and disparities that impact our community, particularly differences in access to essential resources that influence overall well-being. Some of the critical topics covered include:
- Overall health status
- Maternal, parental, and infant health
- Substance and alcohol use
- Access to healthcare (physical, behavioral, and dental)
- Health conditions, including sexually transmitted infections
- Social needs and social determinants of health
- Quality of life factors
Three priority areas emerged from the community survey responses:
- Mental health
- Chronic disease
- Environmental safety
These findings will help guide the development of a Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP), a collaborative, action-oriented strategy aimed at addressing the top health priorities identified by all Montgomery County residents.
