Updated Building & Permitting Fees
At the December 8, 2021 meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Springfield Township, the Board authorized a resolution amending the Township fee schedule for building, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical permits. The new fee schedule is set to go into effect January 3, 2022.
In addition to adjusting the cost of several types of permits, the updated fee schedule alters how several permit fees are calculated. For example, the cost of roofing permits in 2022 will now be based on the square footage of the work being undertaken rather than on the cost of the entire job. Other notable changes include a condition where the cost of a permit is doubled for any contractor working without a permit and the introduction of re-inspection fees for projects that fail their regularly scheduled inspection.
