Pre-construction activities for the Ridge Pike Improvement Project will continue on Ridge Pike between Crescent Avenue and Northwestern Avenue on Monday, August 15, 2022 and continue through August 19, 2022.
Single lane closures with flagging will be in effect from 9 AM to 3 PM during the week of the 18th in various locations throughout the corridor for tree clearing. This pre-construction will impact Section D of the improvement project, which affects Whitemarsh and Springfield Townships.
Please use caution while traveling in construction zones. Motorists are advised to allow for extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather-dependent.
What Is The Ridge Pike Improvement Project?
The Ridge Pike Improvement Project involves the full reconstruction of Ridge Pike between Norristown and Philadelphia, with additional widening and safety improvements at specific locations. The project will lessen congestion, improve safety, improve stormwater management, provide safe areas for pedestrians, and help keep the adjacent communities economically competitive.
The Ridge Pike Improvement Project will also help achieve the goals of the county’s comprehensive plan, Montco 2040: A Shared Vision, by repairing existing infrastructure, enhancing access to businesses, improving safety for walkers and bicyclists, and keeping older neighborhoods economically competitive.
